Billy Elliot The Musical

Maple Leaf Monster Jam
With three weekend shows, including one on SUNDAY, SUNDAY, SUNDAY! Monster trucks are coming to the MTS Centre on the 30th and 31st of January. Featuring Zombie, Monster Mutt and the Canadian crowd-pleaser Northern Nightmare. Grave Digger is NOT scheduled to be at this event, but the other trucks are more than capable of entertaining you, your child or your inner-child. Winnipeg New Music Festival 2016
It’s the 25th anniversary of the Winnipeg New Music Festival and they are throwing a party! Epic music is the flavour of the year. Gavin Bryars’ Sinking of the Titanic, Joan Towers’ Concerto for Orchestra plus headline guests David Lang, co-founder of New York’s Bang on a Can, and artist/musician/composer/explorer/icon Stephen O’Malley. All past composers-in-residence including Glenn Buhr (co-founder with Bramwell Tovey of the WNMF), Randolph Peters, Pat Carrabré and Vincent Ho will be represented with conductor Gary Kulesha. We will flip the Concert hall on its head with all seating on stage for mid-week concerts. Plus food, art, adventure, discovery, parties and much more than can be captured here! Vance Joy: The Fire and the Flood Tour
If you have somehow managed to snag yourself tickets to this show, good on you! The show is scheduled for January 19th at the Burton Cummings Theatre, and is already listed as sold out on Vance Joy’s website. The Australian singer-songwriter is currently touring in support of his debut album, Dream Your Life Away. The album features songs ‘Fire and the Flood’, ‘Georgia’ and their big hit ‘Riptide’. Hockey at the MTS Centre
After closing out 2015 with a game, the Moose come back the next day for a New Year’s Day game against Iowa, followed by 6 more matchups in the first 13 days of the month, before a lengthy roadtrip. The Jets start the month on the road, before playing 7 of 8 at the MTS Centre, including two against Nashville.
The Wonderful Wedding Show
The Wonderful Wedding Show is coming the RBC Convention Centre on the weekend of January 23 and 24. The consumer event features over 400 displays and 100,000 square feet of the latest must-have wedding fashions and trends, wedding products and services, and much more.

Black Sabbath: The End Tour
OZZY! …and the other two members of Black Sabbath (guitarist Tommy Iommi and bassist Geezer Butler) will be gracing the MTS Centre on January 27. They are members of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and have been ranked by MTV as the ‘greatest metal band’ of all time.
